The Xpeng X9 has surfaced in the Netherlands! There’s a good chance this foreshadows a market introduction here.

We are already quite familiar with the Chinese brand Xpeng, especially its electric SUVs. However, Xpeng also has a real MPV in its range, although we still have to look far beyond the borders for that. We are talking about the Xpeng X9. It was already unveiled in China in 2023, and earlier this year Xpeng hinted at having global ambitions with it. That now appears to be the case, because AutoWeek reader Joop Reijnhoudt came across the car here in our country and shared these photos with us.

The fact that the Xpeng X9 in question is heavily wrapped up indicates that it is not just the version sold in China. This is probably the X9 intended for Europe and, although it probably only differs from the Chinese version in detail, Xpeng finds it reason enough to conceal the whole thing.

Nice, but what does the Xpeng X9 have to offer? Well, in its home country, the 5.3-meter-long MPV has a battery pack of up to 105 kWh, good for 740 CLTC kilometers. There is a lavish interior with spacious seats for passengers in the second row with ventilation, heating and an extensive massage function. The third row also offers space for two people and can be folded into the floor for more luggage space if desired. There is certainly no shortage of screens and digital control panels in the Xpeng X9. This is truly a Chinese-style people carrier , as comfortable as possible. We might experience what it all looks and feels like in practice here in the Netherlands next year. We’ll wait and see.
