Madness at its best
This is the new Nissan Patrol Nismo. Yes, a sporty top version of an SUV that weighs over 2,800 kilos. Madness at its best.
Especially for customers in the Middle East, Nissan has given the brand new Patrol a sporty Nismo version. The previous generation Patrol – or Armada as it is called elsewhere – also had a Nismo variant. The new one is even stronger.
It sounds like pure madness to give a basically 2,813 kilo heavy luxurious off-road beast a sporty touch. The numbers completely match that. Like the ‘regular’ Patrol, the new Nissan Patrol Nismo has a 3.5-liter V6 with two turbos. However, in the Nismo version it delivers not 425 hp, but 495 hp and 700 Nm. This surpasses the previous Patrol Nismo, which reached 434 hp.
The Nissan Patrol Nismo needs that 495 hp too. It weighs 2,817 kilos and is therefore a few kilograms heavier than the original. This is partly due to the extra spoiler and bumper work with which the car is covered. These optical extras naturally give the SUV an even thicker appearance. The monster stretches over a distance of 4.3 meters, is 2.07 meters wide and 1.95 meters high. The adjusted bumpers and sideskirts do ensure that the Nismo variant can handle less sharp approach and departure angles and is also closer to the asphalt. The ground clearance is ‘only’ 19.5 instead of 24.4 centimeters.
The new Patrol is not available in the Netherlands, so you can forget about this crazy Patrol Nismo. However, we didn’t want to withhold it from you in digital form.
