Mercedes-AMG’s Unique EV shows itself

Behind the Taycan

Mercedes-AMG EV Teaser

Mercedes-AMG will soon present its own electric model, aiming its sights at the Porsche Taycan. We catch a glimpse of it on some new teaser plates.

Mercedes-AMG has of course had some electric cars in its range for some time, but these are sporty versions of Mercedes-Benz cars. However, a model is now coming that is exclusively from Mercedes-AMG. This is a GT, still without a name, with a fairly elongated appearance and undoubtedly a very powerful powertrain. The newcomer is almost certainly Mercedes-AMG’s answer to the Porsche Taycan.

Not so long ago, the car was still photographed by our spy photographer, but details were difficult to discern. These teasers provide some clarity. We can already see the taillights and headlights. Certainly at the rear, it seems to be a rather remarkable appearance for Mercedes standards. Such round lights are more reminiscent of other brands, such as Ferrari. We also already see a piece of the nose and rear of the Mercedes-AMG. We put the two together, with a piece in between. The actual length of the car could therefore turn out to be somewhat different, although we already saw on the spy photos that the GT has a considerable wheelbase.

The fact that Mercedes-AMG has started teasing probably means that the unveiling is not far away. Perhaps it will use the race weekend at Silverstone for the unveiling, a bit of a home race for the Mercedes-AMG F1 team. In that case, we only have to wait roughly a week and a half. We are curious.
