Cheap or less expensive?

New is always more expensive, right? Certainly not. Maserati proves that. The brand new Maserati MCPura is actually €20,000 cheaper than the MC20 it replaces. Or should we say: less expensive?
Cheap is never a Maserati, of course. Not even the new Maserati MCPura. However, the price advantage over its predecessor, the MC20, is simply substantial. The Maserati MC20 cost €327,250 and the open MC20 Cielo could be taken home for €365,070. The successor, Maserati MCPura, undercuts that by tens of thousands of euros, AutoWeek can exclusively report.
The Maserati MCPura has a Dutch starting price of €305,617. This makes the closed Maserati with a mid-engine €21,633 cheaper than the MC20. The price difference between the open versions is even greater. The Maserati MCPura Cielo costs €341,700 in the Netherlands. That is no less than €24,000 less than what you paid for the MC20 Cielo.

The MCPura is not entirely new, though. In fact, it is the ‘facelifted’ version of the MC20, although the external differences between the MC20 and the MCPura are not earth-shattering. Behind the front seats of the MCPura, just like the MC20, lies a 630 hp and 720 Nm strong 3.0 V6, the so-called Nettuno machine with two turbos. Shifting is again done with an eight-speed automatic. The 0-100 sprint is done in 2.9 seconds. The top speed is 325 km/h.
