Porsche 911 Speedster seems to be continued

Porsche 911 Speedster Mule Spyshots

Porsche might treat itself to another Porsche 911 Speedster for its eightieth birthday, just like it did for its seventieth.

In 2018, the Porsche 911 Speedster Concept was unveiled, an extra intense special open-top version of the 911. The production version appeared a year later. Now, Porsche seems to be working on a new 911 Speedster again. You might not see it directly on this test car, but we are probably dealing with a Speedster disguised as a 911 Cabriolet.

The reasoning behind that suspicion? Well, apart from the roof, we mainly see a 911 GT3 here, and the 2019 Speedster was also based on the GT3 of the then-current generation. There is a good chance that there will soon be a large carbon fiber cover on the back again, with covered roll bars. If it has the beating heart of the 911 GT3, there is a 510 hp strong atmospheric 4.0 six-cylinder boxer engine in the back, which may always be linked to a manual gearbox again.

That promises wonderful open driving pleasure. We just have to be patient: if Porsche makes it a birthday present again, then we are betting on an unveiling in 2028. You can bet that only a limited number will be available again then.
