Two new Chinese car brands are settling in the Netherlands

Omoda 9 SHS

You will soon be able to admire some new Chinese cars at numerous dealerships in the country. Cars from Omoda and Jaecoo will be on display there.

Omoda and Jaecoo are establishing themselves (or as they say themselves, ‘Omoda&Jaecoo is establishing itself’) in the Netherlands at numerous different dealer companies. In various places in the country, you will soon be able to view and buy the cars in person. Specifically, it concerns the dealers Haaima in Leeuwarden, Virena in Assen and Emmen, Wassink in Arnhem and Venlo, Auto Versteeg Buurman in Barneveld, Wittebrug in Zoetemeer and Dekker Autogroep in Zwaag and Alkmaar.

In the showrooms of those dealers will soon be the Omoda 5 EV, the Omoda 9 SHS and the Jaecoo 7 SHS. We recently drove the Omoda 9 SHS. That is Omoda’s flagship; an SUV that has to compete with cars like the BMW X3 and Volvo XC60, with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Omoda 5 EV is, as the name suggests, a fully electric car. The Jaecoo 7 is, like the Omoda 9, a plug-in hybrid. SHS stands for ‘Super Hybrid System’, where a 1.5 four-cylinder works together with two electric motors on the front axle and a third on the rear axle. You can read how that works out in practice here.
