Renault Group has a new CEO. His name is François Provost, and he will take over the highest offices of the group on July 31st, as they have found a successor to Luca de Meo in him.
In mid-June, it was announced that Luca de Meo would be leaving Renault Group after five years. De Meo went to Kering, the company behind Gucci and Balenciaga, among others. The group was not rudderless. A temporary replacement was appointed in mid-July, and just a few weeks later, the new CEO has been appointed: François Provost.
Provost has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Renault by the board of directors for a period of four years. Provost will take the reins on July 31st – today.
François Provost joined Renault Group in 2002, was CEO of Renault-Nissan Portugal, later became Deputy CEO of Renault Russia, and then spent five years as CEO and chairman of Renault Samsung Motor in Korea. Provost gained more Renault experience when he became Chief Operating Officer (COO) in China and eventually became Head of International Development at the company. So we are dealing with a true Renault veteran.
