This morning it became clear that Cupra has already built one million cars, but this success is not due to Tavascans delivered in the Netherlands. Therefore, it is good to know that the electric Cupra Tavascan is once again becoming cheaper, also in terms of tax benefits!
The electric Cupra Tavascan initially had a starting price of €48,990. This dropped to €44,990 when the Essential version arrived, and now Cupra is offering an additional €2,000 discount for the same Essential version, at least for those who purchase or lease a stock model. So, for €42,990, you get an electric SUV with a sporty body, 286 hp, 550 kilometers of range, and 540 liters of luggage space. Not bad, although you must be lucky enough that your ideal model is available in the Cupra stock. The offer is particularly interesting for business drivers, who are already the most obvious target group for such a high-performance EV. The price reduction also applies to the fiscal value, which now amounts to €41,705. Because the stock cars will be delivered this year, only 17 percent additional tax is due on the first part of that amount.
The standard equipment of the Cupra Tavascan includes climate control and adaptive cruise control, but again no seat heating. However, this can be optionally added to the Essential. The Cupra Tavascan can be described as a technical sibling of, among others, the Volkswagen ID4, although given its standard sporty body, we might better compare it to the ID5. At the time of writing, that car starts at €47,990 and also has a significantly smaller battery, so calculate your savings.
So far, the China-built Tavascan has not been a great success. Since its launch in 2024, a total of 895 units have been registered in the Netherlands, and in 2025, the car currently ranks 119th.
