With more aggressive Ultra version
Omoda is expanding with the Omoda 4, which will come to the Netherlands next year. It is a compact crossover with a strikingly eye-catching appearance.
Omoda, a car brand of the Chinese giant Chery, currently offers one model in our country: the Omoda 9. Sister brand Jaecoo shares the showroom with Omoda with the Jaecoo 7. Another model is coming: the Omoda 4. We are now seeing it for the first time. In its home country China, the veil has already been lifted and Omoda promises that the Omoda 4 will also be available in the Netherlands next year.
We don’t yet know much about the Omoda 4, but we can already get a clear look at it. It is a crossover that will likely compete with the Peugeot (e)-2008 among others and may be available as both an EV and a combustion engine car. The Chinese are not yet sharing technical information.
However, there is explanation about the quite striking design lines of the newcomer. “We wanted to create something more exciting than the increasingly mundane designs that dominate the current market. Even if that means the styling won’t appeal to everyone. The youthful perspective of our design team is clearly reflected in this futuristic crossover.” Just so you know. The interior is meant to resemble the cockpit of a spaceship. However, for now we see a dashboard that looks fairly conventional for 2025, with a small digital instrument cluster and a large vertically oriented infotainment screen.
For those who want to stand out more, Omoda is introducing the so-called Ultra version of the 4. This distinguishes itself from the regular Omoda 4 with thicker spoiler elements all around and a real diffuser. Furthermore, it sits on different wheels and the brake calipers are painted in the same ‘Electro Yellow’ lacquer as the rest of the car. Here too, specifications are not yet known, but don’t be surprised if the Ultra also has more power at its disposal. We will certainly know more in the second half of 2026, because that’s when the Omoda 4 is expected here.
