Ford has secured a substantial order for the Ford Ranger. A total of 200 units will be delivered to Rijkswaterstaat.

The road inspectors of Rijkswaterstaat currently mainly drive around in Toyota Hilux vehicles, but new service vehicles are coming. In the coming period, 200 Ford Rangers will be dressed in the bright yellow uniform with green and blue stripes. The first ten have already been delivered.

Rijkswaterstaat has chosen the Ford Ranger XLT Supercab. This model features extra storage space behind the seats and can tow up to 3,500 kilograms. A 2.0 EcoBlue diesel engine delivers 170 hp and 405 Nm. The Fords need to be able to withstand impacts, as Rijkswaterstaat vehicles often endure quite a bit. Unfortunately, they are sometimes hit by people who don’t understand what a red cross above the road means.
