Tesla Model 3 Standard

Just like the Tesla Model Y, the Model 3 will also get a simpler Standard version. Before Tesla itself announces it, AutoWeek can tell you with near certainty the definitive prices of the cheaper Model 3.

The Tesla Model Y is already available as a relatively simple and attractively priced Standard version. In the Netherlands, this brand-new version replaced the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive, which was previously the cheapest variant on the price list. The less complete equipment actually resulted in a significantly lower starting price for the SUV. The Tesla Model Y Standard has a starting price of €39,990, which is six thousand euros cheaper than the previously cheapest version. The Tesla Model 3 will also get a cheaper variant called Standard.

The Tesla Model 3 Standard costs €36,990 in the Netherlands. This makes it €5,000 cheaper than the Model 3 ‘Rear-Wheel Drive’ (€41,990) that it will likely replace. Important note: earlier in November, Tesla increased the starting price of that by €2,000. In other words, the Tesla Model 3 Standard is actually €3,000 cheaper than the cheapest Model 3 was for a long time. With the arrival of this budget version, the American brand has restored the balance. Since the introduction of the Model Y Standard, the Model Y has had a lower starting price than the smaller Model 3.

Less

The new cheapest Tesla follows the concept of the Model Y Standard, although the Model 3 Standard is less bare than its SUV sibling. In the United States, for example, the Model 3 Standard has the same lighting at the front and rear as the regular versions. In addition, the entry-level Model 3 simply has a center console and the glass panoramic roof is also part of the entry-level party. In any case, expect simple steel wheels with hubcaps, fewer buttons in the interior, manual steering wheel adjustment, no screen or seat heating in the rear and more simply upholstered seats. We also believe it is plausible that ambient lighting has not been spent on the Model 3 Standard.

It doesn’t stop with differences in terms of equipment. For example, the Tesla Model 3 Standard in its home country of the United States has simpler shock absorbers, the smallest battery and a less potent electric motor than any other Model 3.

Although we can already tell you the price of the Tesla Model 3 Standard, we unfortunately do not yet have extensive specifications for you. More on this when Tesla itself presents the Model 3 Standard to the Dutch public.
