In 2026, we will meet a lot of new cars. Among others, a new Toyota RAV4 and ID Polo will enter the market, but the reincarnation of the Renault Twingo can also be encountered on Dutch roads next year.
Range Rover Velar and Electric:Expansion and Succession
The introduction of the electric Range Rover was continuously postponed, but in 2026, it’s finally happening. It largely remains a rolling mystery, though we know it will feature a 117-kWh battery in combination with 800V technology. An electric Velar-like model is also coming, which will likely completely succeed the Velar.

Renault Twingo:Accessible Retro
The Renault 5 has already won over quite a few people with its playful retro look, but there’s more to come. An electric reincarnation of the Twingo is also on its way, entering a lower market segment. The Renault will have a starting price of €20,900, meaning Renault just falls short of its earlier promise of a starting price under €20,000.

Renault Clio:Completely Different
After two generations that closely resembled each other, the Renault Clio now looks completely different. Furthermore, it is 7 cm longer than its predecessor. However, the recipe remains largely the same. There is a choice of a petrol engine (115 hp mild-hybrid 1.2 TCe three-cylinder), a version of that engine that can also run on LPG (not yet available in the Netherlands), and a hybrid powertrain with 160 hp system output.
Skoda Epiq:Compact and Spacious
Skoda is expanding its electric range downwards and, with the Skoda Epiq, is positioning itself among models like the Peugeot e-2008 and Opel Mokka Electric. With a luggage compartment of no less than 475 liters, it certainly enters the fray strongly with a classic Skoda characteristic. The Epiq is 4.1 meters long and will have a range of up to 425 km. Unfortunately, more figures are not yet available at the time of writing.

Skoda EV Seven-seater:For the Whole Family
Do you have a large family and want to drive electric? Good luck, the supply of six or seven-seaters is not yet overflowing. Skoda will soon contribute with an as-yet-unnamed bigger brother to the Enyaq. It will soon compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9, among others, and should respond to them with a range of around 600 km.

Smart #2:The Tiny One is Back
Currently, Smart, which underwent a significant reform a few years ago, only offers SUVs, but a small two-seater is also coming: the #2. Fully electric and developed for Europe.

Subaru E-Outback:Refreshed and Longer
The Subaru Solterra has been facelifted and immediately gets a 14 cm longer derivative alongside it: the E-Outback. Essentially, it is Subaru’s version of the Toyota bZ4X Touring. For now, it will have one powertrain: a 343 hp all-wheel-drive version with a 74.7-kWh battery. The Solterra will also get this. Both are allowed to tow 1,500 kg.
Subaru Uncharted:Subaru’s C-HR+
With a name like ‘Uncharted’, you certainly grab attention. This electric Subaru does just that, and it’s subtly clear that the Uncharted is in fact a Toyota C-HR+. With different bumpers and lighting, it still looks somewhat different. As with the Toyota, there is a 224 hp front-wheel-drive version or an AWD with 343 hp. The maximum range is 585 km.

Toyota bZ4X Touring:A Bit More
We already mentioned it with the Subaru E-Outback; the Toyota bZ4X Touring. That is a 14 cm longer brother of the bZ4X. In this, you have 148 liters more luggage space. It is not only more spacious but also more powerful. The all-wheel-drive version is not 343 but 380 hp strong. With the 224 hp FWD, you get the furthest: 560 km.

Toyota RAV4:The Number 1
The Toyota RAV4 is the global sales leader and has now been completely restyled. It appears somewhat bolder and more angular and will only be available here as a plug-in hybrid. It will be 268 hp or 304 hp strong and will have front- or all-wheel drive, respectively. The electric range of 100 km is significant. Charging is possible at 50 kW.

Volkswagen ID Polo:Polo, but Different
Remember that a Volkswagen ID2 was supposed to come? Well, that will be the ID Polo. Volkswagen is simply bringing in the well-known and successful name for its electric counterpart. It will have a fairly conventional appearance for an EV. The front-wheel-drive EV will be about 4.05 meters long, will also come as a GTI, and that will deliver 226 hp.

Volkswagen ID Cross: Taller Brother
The Volkswagen ID Polo will almost immediately get a taller brother alongside it. An electric T-Cross alternative, therefore. It will likely be called ID Cross and, like the ID Polo, will have a fairly traditional shape. However, there is a bit more playfulness in the design, including Citroën-like decorative elements on the C-pillar.

Volkswagen T-Roc:Evolution
With a success story like the Volkswagen T-Roc, you shouldn’t go for major course changes. Volkswagen understands this, and thus we immediately recognize the new generation as a T-Roc. Especially inside, it looks distinctly more modern. The 12 cm grown T-Roc will get a 116 hp mild-hybrid 1.5 TSI, and later a full-hybrid powertrain and a genuine R will follow.

Volkswagen ID4:Restart
The Volkswagen ID4 is not selling as well as its cousin, the Skoda Enyaq, and its appearance undoubtedly plays a role in this. Volkswagen is working on a so-called reskin , a very extensive facelift that the brand presents as a generation change. In this process, the ID4 will get a somewhat sleeker body and more buttons in the interior. Furthermore, we expect new (LFP) batteries.

Volvo EX60:Electric alongside a Success Story
The Volvo XC60 is still selling incredibly well, and now Volvo wants to operate in the same market segment with an EV. This will happen with the EX60. It will immediately have the longest range of all electric Volvos released to date. How much exactly is not yet clear, but it will surpass the 700 km of the Volvo ES90. The EX60 will soon roll off the production line in Sweden.
Volvo XC70:Two Worlds
Electric driving and fuel driving, the Volvo XC70 combines these two worlds quite well. This new plug-in hybrid SUV is expected to be able to drive fully electrically for about 160 km, and including fuel, the range reaches about 1,000 km. A 1.5 four-cylinder can power the battery and also handle the propulsion. You can also simply plug in the XC70. In that case, you can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 23 minutes.

Xpeng P7 and P7+:Two Times P7
The brand new Xpeng P7 is also coming this way. In China, it is available with a 74.9-kWh LFP battery and a 92.2-kWh NMC version. There is a 367 hp powerful rear-wheel-drive and a 593 hp strong variant with all-wheel drive. Another P7 is coming this way, or rather, the P7+. That is a slightly longer liftback, which will be positioned slightly lower in the market. In China, the P7+ has 60.7 kWh, 74.9 kWh, and 76.4 kWh LFP batteries and up to 313 hp of power.

Of course, much more is coming. For example, Toyota is working on a real supercar with a V8, the Toyota GR GT, which may get a street-legal homologation version as a Lexus. MG is preparing the new MG 4 for our part of the world, and possibly the new Jeep Cherokee will also come here. Meanwhile, Audi is testing a car that will almost certainly follow in the footsteps of the A2, and at Fiat, a fastback-like bigger brother to the Grande Panda seems to be on the way. So, a lot to look forward to!
