Pulling the Plug

Stellantis is discontinuing the sale of plug-in hybrid models in the United States. This is evident from reports by Automotive News.
Stellantis is stopping the sale of all its plug-in hybrid models in the United States. This means that the Jeep Wrangler 4Xe, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, and the Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-in Hybrid will disappear from showrooms. The disappearance of the Wrangler 4xe is notable, as it is the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the United States. Stellantis already removed the Dodge Hornet – the Dodge cousin of the Tonale – from its lineup mid-last year.
Stellantis is discontinuing the sale of plug-ins in the United States because it wants to focus on “cars with hybrid powertrains and EREVs,” Stellantis tells Automotive News. In Europe, plug-in hybrid Stellantis models will remain available, as far as is known. There are quite a few of them. For example, the Opel Astra, Opel Grandland, Peugeot 308, Peugeot 3008, Peugeot 5008, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Compass, DS Numéro 4, and DS 7 are available as plug-in hybrids.
