Smart plug-in hybrid family car from Ford is coming to the Netherlands after all

Up to 110 kilometers electric

Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV

Ford’s delivery range has been thinned out in recent years. The Fiesta is no longer available, and the Focus is also a thing of the past. Anyone looking for a plug-in family car that is even more practical than the Ford Kuga PHEV will soon be able to turn to Ford. The Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV is, after all, coming to the Netherlands.

What isn’t, can still come. The Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV, which debuted in early 2024, was not supposed to come to the Netherlands. The importer stated at the time that it would focus on the fully electric E-Tourneo Courier. That plan did not go through. Mid-last year, AutoWeek wrote that the electric ludospace would, at least for the time being, not be launched in the Netherlands. What has Ford decided now? Precisely: the plug-in hybrid Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV is, after all, coming our way. AutoWeek can exclusively report this.

The Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV is the plug-in hybrid passenger car version of the Transit Connect. For those who have lost track: the Transit family comes in four forms and two flavors. The commercial vehicle versions are called Transit, the passenger car versions Tourneo. This designation is followed by a name for the type of model. From small to large: Courier, Connect, Custom, and simply ‘Transit’.

Ford Tourneo Connect

Ford Tourneo Connect: only as Trend or as Titanium.

Where the Ford Tourneo/Transit Custom serves as the basis for the Volkswagen Transporter, in the case of the Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV, a Volkswagen serves as the basis: the Caddy. The Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV is powered by a powerful interplay of a 150 hp gasoline engine and an electric motor. Shifting is done with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The electric range: up to 110 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with a maximum of 50 kW.

We don’t have exact prices yet, although AutoWeek can already present indicative prices. The Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV will come to us as Trend and Titanium. Additionally, you can choose from two length versions. For the Ford Tourneo Connect PHEV Trend, you’ll pay around €38,000, and for the more luxuriously equipped Titanium, around €40,000. The longer Grand Tourneo versions, which also offer space for seven instead of five occupants, are about €2,900 more expensive.
