No plans for the time being
Bad news for those who were water-to-water and with drawn wallet waiting for the Ford e-Tourneo Courier. The smart electric family car from Ford does not come to the Netherlands at all for the time being.
The transit family is extensive. Very extensive. Ford sells a full-size electric delivery van that is simply called Transit. Underneath is the Ford Transit Custom as a counterpart to commercial vehicles such as the Renault Trafic, Opel Vivaro and the Volkswagen Transporter related to the Ford. The Transit Custom has two smaller alternatives. The first is called Transit Connect and is in fact a Volkswagen Caddy where Ford has poured out his own sauce. This includes the Transit Courier. Depending on where you shop, Ford of all those commercial vehicles also has passenger versions, variants that miss the transit part of the name and have the word ‘Tourneo’ on that location. That brings us to the Ford Tourneo Courier. A smart and variant that is promised to the Dutch market does not come our way.
In mid-2023, Ford presented the E-Tourneo Courier, the fully electrically powered passenger car coverage of the Tourneo Courier, which is available in the Netherlands. At the time, Ford indicated that the e-Tourneo Courier ‘would be available in the Netherlands from mid-2024’. In the meantime half of 2025 is almost over and the electric family car is still not there. He will probably not come at all anymore. Inquiries with the Dutch importer shows that Ford – at least for the time being – no longer intends to offer the e -Tourneo Courier on this.
For those who missed it: the Ford e-Tourneo Courier has a 136 hp electric motor and a 54 kWh battery. That combination is good for an electric range of up to 296 kilometers. The E-Tourneo Courier is comparable to cars such as the Citroën E-Berlingo and is therefore a particularly practical family car, although the Ford is somewhat dressed as cross-over-like. The luggage space of the five -seater is 570 liters. If you throw the car up to the roof, you can take 1,188 liters along. With the rear seat even 2,162 liters. But unfortunately: that electrically driven packing pleasure therefore passes by the Dutch market.
