BMW X7 completely in the new

BMW X7 Spyshots

The BMW X7 was presented at the end of 2018 and received a thorough facelift three years ago. Now it’s almost time for a completely new generation. We see it here for the first time.

We can say that the facelift that the BMW X7 received in April 2022 was one of the most radical transformations of recent years. The traditional front of BMW’s top-class SUV was suddenly gone. In its place, the X7 received a nose that is somewhat reminiscent of that of the 7-series/i7. It seems that this tastes like more, because the next generation of the X7 seems to have a fairly similar face.

However, much will remain unchanged. For example, the new BMW X7 looks slightly more angular than the current one and has a somewhat clumsier D-pillar. Despite these changes, it remains to be seen whether the X7 is really completely new, or whether it is a thorough ‘reskin‘, as we saw happen with the BMW 1-series, for example. In any case, we are not counting on very shocking changes to the powertrain range, although it remains to be seen whether BMW will offer the X7 with a V8 again here in Europe. Here in the Netherlands, the cheapest X7 is currently the xDrive40i, with a 380 hp 3.0 six-in-line. That six-cylinder will undoubtedly be back. It is much more uncertain whether BMW will also put a diesel on the Dutch order list in the future.
