Ferrari SC40 is a tribute to the legendary Ferrari F40

Looking, looking, not buying.

Ferrari SC40

Even for those who don’t find a Ferrari exclusive enough, there is a solution. That solution can also be a Ferrari. This hyper-exclusive Ferrari SC40 proves that.

Does your neighbor already have a Purosangue? Is there already a 296 GTB further down the street and do you know someone who already has a 12 Cilindri or F80 parked in front of their door? Thanks to Ferrari Tailor Made, which allows you to customize your exotic car to your personal taste down to the smallest details, you don’t have to worry that your new Ferrari will look like someone else’s in your area. For those for whom even that is not enough, Ferrari offers models from the so-called Special Project Program. These are developed specifically for and with you. The latest unique Ferrari made specifically for one customer is this SC40.

The Ferrari SC40 is based on the plug-in hybrid 296 GTB, although the original is barely recognizable in it. Only in the windshield, the roofline and the interior can you recognize that the 830 hp two-seater served as the basis. As the name of the one-off somewhat indicates, the SC40 is a tribute to the legendary F40 with which Ferrari celebrated its 40th anniversary in 1987. The enormous rear wing on which the model name SC40 is placed on the sides is a direct reference to that legendary anniversary model. It is not a retro model, the Italians emphasize: “The goal was not to make a literal reinterpretation of the F40, but to create a car with its own unique character.”

We could spend multiple paragraphs describing the design, but photos say more than a thousand words. So just enjoy looking, because buying is not an option. It remains with this single specimen. Earlier relatively recent Special Project Ferraris are the SP-8, KC23, SP51, SP48 Unica and this BR20.
