Tavares drops a bombshell

Tesla is facing various challenges and former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares doesn’t know if Tesla will survive it all.
2025 is not necessarily a year that Tesla will likely look back on positively, but things seem to be picking up again. This year, Tesla faced significantly lower sales than expected, partly due to the political escapades of CEO Elon Musk. There has also been considerable competition, whether Chinese or not, that has emerged over the years. Carlos Tavares wonders if Tesla can handle this headwind.
According to Automotive News , Tavares sees two major dangers; the Chinese and Musk. “I don’t know if Tesla will still exist in ten years. It’s an innovative group, but they will be defeated by BYD’s efficiency,” said Tavares. According to him, it’s also questionable whether Musk is still committed: “We cannot rule out that he (Musk) decides to leave the automotive industry to focus on robots, SpaceX or artificial intelligence.”
