Stellantis is rapidly rolling out a new series of electric hot-hatches and fast small SUVs. The Opel Mokka GSE is also part of it and now has a Dutch price tag.
The Abarth 600, the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, the Lancia Ypsilon HF, the Peugeot 208 GTI and the Opel Mokka GSE: In fact, they are all variants on the same theme. They are all electric, they are all rather severely dressed, they are all fast and they all have a mechanical saving differential on the front axle. The latter is essential, we discovered during our first test with the Abarth. It makes the car in combination with the sophisticated chassis much nicer than you would expect from a high and small EV.
The expectations are therefore high for the Opel Mokka GSE, which shares a lot with that Abarth and also has 280 hp as standard. That is a small difference with the 600, which only has that power as an extra thick Scorpionissima and gets 240 hp as standard.
In that form, that Abarth costs € 49,990 and if you keep it in mind, the Mokka is actually a bargain. With € 43,999, the Opel is even cheaper than the 240 hp Turismo version of the Abarth. This makes the Mokka GSE no less than € 7,000 more expensive than a regular electric mokka in GS-Trim, but believe us: this car cannot really be compared.
In addition to the extra power, the adapted chassis, the Sperk Differential and 20-inch light metal, you also immediately get a unique front and rear bumper, special sports seats, seats and steering heating, yellow calipers, matrix-led headlights and much more luxury and decoration. So a pricey gadget, this Mokka, but also relatively cheap. Now drive!
