Time flies. Coupled with the generally not fantastic residual value of electric cars, this means you can already get the most popular new car of 2020 and 2021 for less than €13,000. We’re talking about the Kia Niro.
The Kia Niro still sells well, but a few years ago it was truly hard to get. In 2020, with 11,883 registrations, it was the most popular new car in the Netherlands, and in 2021, the versatile Niro maintained its top position. A large part of its success is due to the various types of powertrains it was (and still is) available with. Like the current model, the previous generation Kia Niro was available as a Hybrid, a Plug-in Hybrid, and an e-Niro (now: Niro EV). The electric Kia e-Niro, in particular, sold like proverbial hotcakes. You can buy a used electric Kia Niro for less than €13,000.
For €12,950, a six-year-old electric Kia e-Niro with 181,233 kilometers on the odometer can be yours. It’s also an ExecutiveLine, which means it’s well-equipped. According to the advertisement, the battery is also in perfect condition. The seller states a SoH (State of Health) of no less than 100 percent. So, the battery is like new. The stated WLTP range of 455 kilometers should therefore be achievable.
