Mazda Vision X-Compact might be the new Mazda 2!

Mazda Vision X-Compact

At the Mazda stand during the Japan Mobility Show, two visions of the future are shining. This is the Mazda Vision X-Compact. It might just show what you can expect from a new Mazda 2!

The Mazda Vision X-Compact, like the Vision X-Coupe it debuted alongside, is a preview of what’s to come. Unlike the Vision X-Coupe, the Vision X-Compact is modest in size.

Mazda Vision X-Compact

Mazda Vision X-Compact: delightfully headstrong.

The Vision X-Compact is 3.83 meters short, meaning this visual preview is about thirty centimeters shorter than the previous generation Mazda 2 (non-Hybrid). The red hatchback is 1.8 meters wide, 1.47 meters high, and has a wheelbase of 2.52 meters. This futuristic Mazda might serve as a preview of a successor to the 2. There are certainly some influences incorporated!

Mazda 2 Sedan

There is still a Mazda 2 Hybrid based on the Toyota Yaris, but this genuine Mazda 2 is out of production.

Mazda does not share technical details. It describes the car in a way that is not very useful to us. The Vision X-Compact is supposed to ‘deepen the bond between human and car through a fusion of a human sensory model and empathetic AI.’ Wow. We are more interested in what we see. If you ask us, the small vision of the future certainly doesn’t look bad!
