New MG 4 Electric: also completely different on the inside

Double News

MG 4 Electric Track Style

The MG 4 Electric has only been in the Netherlands for a few years. In its home country of China, a completely new generation is already eager to start. This will probably also come to the Netherlands and it is this completely new MG 4 Electric that we can show you the interior of today.

The lifespan of the MG 4 Electric turns out to be as short as the model is exuberantly drawn. The MG 4 Electric was introduced to the European consumer a few months after its introduction on the Chinese home market. After about three years, MG and parent company SAIC Motor think it’s enough for the strikingly designed electric hatchback. In March, MG threw a completely new MG 4 Electric into the ether without prior announcement. It is larger and, with its considerably rounder design, fits better with the rest of the models in the current MG portfolio. The exterior of the new MG 4 is known, the interior now too.

Like the exterior, the interior of the new MG 4 Electric is also completely new, but the layout of the interior is familiar. Behind the steering wheel is a relatively small display that functions as instrumentation, with a large infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. That screen is considerably larger than the one in the current MG 4 Electric. The central air vents of the ventilation system have moved one floor down and are beautifully concealed in the design of the center tunnel. The MG 4 Electric had not previously had a center tunnel connected to the dashboard. This also means that the ‘island’ that the car previously had in its place has had to make way. MG seems to have believed that the 4 Electric did not need a completely new steering wheel.

To warm things up a bit more for the new 4 Electric, MG is showcasing the car in China as Track Style. Complete with extra spoilers, lips and edges. Very hip!

We do not yet have information about the European version of the new MG 4 Electric.
