The Opel Grandland Electric is now also available with all-wheel drive. This new variant boasts a remarkable 325 hp!
Those in the market for an Opel Grandland already have quite a few powertrains to choose from. The SUV is available as a 145 hp mild-hybrid, as a 195 hp plug-in hybrid, and as a Grandland Electric with two electric powertrains. These are both 213 hp variants with front-wheel drive, although one has a 73-kWh battery and the other a pack with a capacity of 82 kWh. Now there is a third electric variant. It’s called the Opel Grandland Electric AWD and is quite potent.
The new third electric variant of the Opel Grandland Electric has two electric motors that together produce 325 hp and 509 Nm of torque. The front electric motor delivers 213 hp, and the rear one brings 112 hp to the table. This first all-wheel-drive version of the current generation Grandland accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. The new variant has the ‘small’ battery and therefore has to make do with the 73-kWh battery. From this, the SUV squeezes a range of 501 kilometers. You may already know this powertrain from the Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008.
The Grandland Electric AWD stands on 20-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts. According to Opel, this makes it the most aerodynamic variant of the SUV. Dutch prices are not yet available.
