Porsche Macan GTS: for those who think 516 hp is lame

Not the strongest, but the sportiest

Porsche Macan GTS

Do you find the over 516 hp strong Porsche Macan 4S a bit weak, but is the Macan Turbo with its nearly 640 hp too much of a good thing? Then Porsche now has a solution. This is the Porsche Macan GTS.

Anyone somewhat familiar with the versions in which Porsche delivers its models – and there are quite a few – knows that the GTS variants bridge the gap between the S versions and the Turbo variants. They are not only more powerful but especially sharper than the S versions they sit above. The 911 comes as a GTS, as does the Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne. Now the electric Porsche Macan also has a GTS variant.

For those who missed it: the lineup begins with a simply named Macan with 360 hp rear-wheel drive version. Above that is the 408 hp strong all-wheel drive Macan 4. For more power, there’s the 516 hp strong Macan 4S, a variant that until now only had to tolerate the 639 hp strong Macan Turbo above it. The Macan 4S only delivers that 516 hp in overboost mode. The brand new Porsche Macan GTS is always 516 hp strong and in turn delivers 571 hp and 955 Nm in overboost mode. Boss above boss.

The Macan GTS is capable of accelerating from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. In 13.3 seconds you’re racing at 200 km/h on the asphalt. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h. In the floor sits a 100-kWh battery, good for a range of up to 586 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with 270 kW.

Although the Macan GTS is not the strongest Macan, according to Porsche it is the sportiest. It has a locking differential on the rear axle, ‘sport air suspension’ AND sits one centimeter lower above the asphalt than the other versions. The Sport Chrono package is standard and now also includes a genuine Track mode known from the Taycan. In the Sport and Sport Plus driving modes, the Macan GTS produces ‘GTS sounds’ via the Porsche Electroc Sport Sound system (PESS).

From the outside, you can recognize the Macan GTS by its GTS-typical black accents. The headlines are also darker than in the other versions. Are you charmed by the bumper design of the Macan GTS that you see in these photos? Good news: as part of the Sport Design package, it will be available on all other Macan versions starting early next year. For an additional payment, of course.
