And there comes one
Toyota is saying goodbye to the Supra in a spectacular way. The farewell edition Supra A90 Final Edition is not only faster than a regular Supra, but also more expensive. Much more expensive.
The Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition – A90 is the model code – is not just an action model with some stickers and floor mats. Toyota provides the always jet-black machine with a unique KW chassis, lightweight wheels, a large rear wing, extra thick Brembo brakes, an Akrapovic exhaust, very sporty bucket seats and an upgrade for the cooling system. The latter is necessary, because the BMW six-cylinder in-line engine is pumped up from 340 hp and 500 Nm to 435 hp and 570 Nm for the occasion. In the Final Edition, the engine is always linked to a manual six-speed gearbox and this super-Supra has a top speed of 270 instead of 250 km/h.
Nice stuff, such a Supra Final Edition, but also expensive stuff. Of the 300 copies made, exactly one will come to the Netherlands. With VAT and BPM, that car costs – hold on tight – €190,000. That is almost double what Toyota asked for a ‘normal’ six-cylinder Supra when it was still available, although it must be said that the price of that car also rose to well above 100,000 at the end. In 2025 a total of two were sold – one of which was ‘Final’ – and in 2024 three.
The peak year for the Supra in the Netherlands was 2020, when – wow! – 23 copies were registered. The loss of this model in the Netherlands is therefore more an emotional than a realistic affair, but the disappearance of one of the last sports cars from a mainstream car brand is of course always sad.
