The New Standard

AutoWeek was able to report the Dutch price of the Tesla Model 3 Standard last week. Now more is known about what you get for that money.
Last week we had a real scoop with the Dutch price of the Tesla Model 3 Standard. That price, which we uncovered behind the scenes, has now also been officially confirmed by Tesla. So from now on it starts at €36,990 for the Tesla Model 3. That is exactly €5,000 cheaper than the previously least expensive Tesla Model 3, the ‘Rear-Wheel Drive’. What turns out: the Tesla Model 3 has a comparable story to offer in terms of performance.
The Tesla Model 3 Standard even manages a slightly higher range: 534 km instead of 520 km. On the other hand, with a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.2 seconds, it is just a tenth slower than the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive. But hey, that is fortunately considerably less relevant. What is on and off for those 37 grand? Well, it’s better to look at what is not on it. For example, there is only seat heating in the front, the upholstery is made of a simpler fabric and there is no screen for the passengers in the back. The shock absorbers may also be a bit simpler and there is no ambient lighting. That is at least the case in the US.

We still have to make do with images of the American Tesla Model 3 Standard for a while.
What’s on it? Including 18-inch ‘Prismata’ wheels with hubcaps, seat heating in the front, a glass roof, wireless chargers for your phone, one USB C port in the front and two in the back, a lever for the direction indicator and the seats in the front are also simply electrically adjustable. You can tow up to 1,000 kilos with the Tesla Model 3 Standard and according to Tesla it consumes 13 kWh/100 km according to the WLTP cycle. You can order immediately, Tesla expects to be able to deliver the Model 3 Standard in the Netherlands from January.
