Still Winged
Not only is the Tesla Model S getting a refresh in the autumn of its life, but the Tesla Model X has also been improved. Here’s what’s new on the Tesla Model X.
The winged Tesla Model X is not as old as the Model S. However, the Model X, born in 2015, is already quite old. The ten-year-old electric SUV has now been updated, just like the Tesla Model S. What applies to the Model S also applies to the Model X. So don’t expect far-reaching adjustments.
Where the renewed Tesla Model S as Plaid got a completely new front and rear bumper to distinguish itself from the more mildly motorized variants, the 1,035 hp Model X Plaid retains the plastic it already had. From the outside, the renewed Tesla Model X is therefore hardly distinguishable from the previous version. Anyone who sees a Tesla Model X in the color Frost Blue has the refreshed version in front of them. That paint color replaces the darker Deep Blue Metallic. Like the Model S, the Tesla Model X also gets new alloy wheels. The 20-inch Cyberstream wheels are replaced by so-called Perihelix wheels with the same diameter. The 21-inch Turbine wheels in turn have to make way for Machine copies.

Interior
Of course, the Tesla Model X also benefits from the improved active noise cancellation, with the result that less noise from wind or tire rolling noise enters the interior. The Model X has new ambient lighting that treats Model X passengers to a visual tune when opening the doors.
In the renewed Tesla Model X you are welcomed by the ambient lighting.
More news: the Tesla Model X gets a new camera in the front bumper and should offer more comfort due to adjustments to the chassis. The headlights cast extensively adaptive light beams into the world and Tesla promises that passengers in the third row of seats of the Model X have more space. The luggage space should also be just a bit larger than before.
According to Tesla, the renewed Tesla Model X cuts through the wind more efficiently.
According to Tesla, the range of the Model X has been improved because the car has become more aerodynamic, something that is closely related to the new alloy wheels. The 680 hp All-Wheel Drive notes an American ETA range of 566 kilometers behind its name. On paper, the Plaid manages a range of 539 kilometers. Please note: these figures cannot be directly compared with the slightly more optimistic WLTP figures that Tesla communicates in Europe.
Like the Tesla Model S, the Model X in the United States is also about €4,300 more expensive across the board. Prices for the Dutch market are not yet available.
