Passat Does Well, Polo Does Not

Volkswagen Passat R-Line Edition

In The Netherlands, Volkswagen Has, to acknowledge Kia’s Superiority for Some Time, but in its home country of Germany, The Brand Remains Supreme. This year, it appears no less than seven times in the top 20 models, including the complete top 4!

We get a nice glimpse into the German sales statistics from our friends at autobild, which is always fun. Where Kia Provides the Complete Top 3 Models for Us, Volkswagen is equally good for the entire top 4 in Germany for the first six months of 2025. The Models in Question are also QUITE REMARKABLE, Because separate from the very traditional golf (2), and the incient t-roc. SUV Supremacy? Apparently that’s not so bad in Germany, Although the Tiguan Does Even Better.

Only in Fifth Place is It Finally Time for Another Brand (Opel), After which BMW and Volkswagen Subsidiaries Skoda, Seat and Cupra (Both Versions of the Leon Count As One Model here) Bring us Past 8th Place. The 9th Position is the Oldest ‘Car’ Car ‘Car’ You Can Currently Buy New in Europe, But That Fiat Ducato Owes its Success, Accordination to Autobild, in Large Part to its Popularity As a Base For Campers. The Next Volkswagen is only in 14th Place, Although It is remarkable that it concerns the id7 here. That Large EV is Therefore Clearly More Popular than the Volkswagen T-Cross (16) and the Highher Duo Id4/ID5, which are the Tailenders of the Top 20.

And what do you think is in 21st place? That’s Right, Another Volkswagen: The Id3 Just Falls Outside the Picture.

Polo Plummets

Amidst all that Volkswagen Supremacy, it is remarkable How Poorly the Once So Popular Polo is Doing. Volkswagen’s Smallest Model Ends Up in 30th Place thanks to sales figures that have collapsed by no less than 32 percent.
