Autumn holiday means relaxation, but unfortunately also delays. ANWB warns of significant delays on the roads this Thursday and Friday afternoon.
The start of the autumn holiday in the Northern and Central regions coincides with the end of the holiday period in the Southern region. This combination of heavy holiday traffic and regular commuter traffic, along with roadworks and border controls, will cause substantial traffic jams and thus delays on Thursday and Friday afternoon, ANWB warns.
ANWB expects the road congestion to be most severe on Friday afternoon. The first traffic jams are anticipated around noon. Particularly in the center of the Netherlands, in Gelderland and in North Brabant, it will be busy. Among others, on the A2 and A27 from Utrecht to the south and on the A1 and A12 towards the east. Last year, on the same Friday, there were over 800 kilometers of traffic jams. So brace yourself.
