Let Move Slide
It is small, immensely popular, and not for sale in Europe. That can be said of many cars these days, but in this article, it all relates to an old acquaintance: the Daihatsu Move.
There are many small car models that are hugely popular but that you cannot buy in the Netherlands at all. We mention the Honda N-Box and the Hongguang Mini EV. The Daihatsu Move can be added to that list of equally compact and successful city friends. Of course, we are not talking about the first or second generation Move that were also sold in the Netherlands, but about the brand new current generation.
The new and already seventh generation Daihatsu Move was presented in June of this year. Of course, we already devoted some web space to that and today we are building on that. ‘Why, for heaven’s sake?’ – we hear you thinking. Well: the new Move turns out to be a direct hit. Daihatsu initially aimed to sell 6,000 units per month. What turns out? Five times as many copies have already been ordered in the first month. Indeed, about 30,000 pieces.
The RS and G versions are the most popular, the most popular colors are Shining White Pearl, Black Mica Metallic and Chrome Gray Metallic. Also interesting is who buys a Move. According to Daihatsu, these are mainly ‘people whose children no longer live with them’.
Subaru Stella: the Move from Subaru.
More Move news? We have it. Of course. Daihatsu is organizing a real 30th Anniversary event later this year to celebrate the thirty-year existence of the Move. After all, the first generation was introduced in Japan as early as 1995. Even more Move news? We have that too. The new Daihatsu Move also goes through life as Subaru Stella.
