Toyota bZ4X Touring: more space than a bZ4X comes at a price

Toyota bZ4X Touring

Long, spacious, and fully electric

Is the Toyota bZ4X not practical enough for you, but would you still like an electric SUV from Toyota? Then you can now put the significantly more spacious Toyota bZ4X Touring on your shortlist. AutoWeek has the prices.

The Toyota bZ4X Touring is best described as a bZ4X with a significant size increase. The SUV naturally shares its base with the bZ4X, but with its vehicle length of 4.83 meters, it is considerably longer. It differs by 14 centimeters in length, in favor of the bZ4X Touring. This extra vehicle length, along with its higher and more rearward sloping roof, gives the Toyota bZ4X Touring much more luggage space. The Toyota bZ4X Touring swallows 600 liters in the back, 148 liters more than the bZ4X. For more car, Toyota logically asks for more money.

The starting price of the Toyota bZ4X Touring is €48,995. For that amount, you get a Dynamic-equipped bZ4X Touring with a 74.7-kWh battery and a 227 hp electric motor. That combination is good for a range of 560 kilometers. With the same trim, a similarly motorized bZ4X costs €45,995. The bZ4X Touring is therefore at least 3 grand more expensive.

Higher on the menu is the bZ4X Touring Dynamic AWD. This four-wheel-drive version has two electric motors with a combined output of 380 hp and achieves a range of 505 kilometers. That variant costs €52,995, making it €5,000 more expensive than a similarly equipped bZ4X. The top version is called Executive AWD. It also has 380 hp, but is more richly equipped. It costs €57,995 and is therefore also €5,000 more expensive than a comparable bZ4X.

Equipment Toyota bZ4X Touring

The Dynamic version is already more than adequately equipped. An electrically operated tailgate is standard, as are 18-inch alloy wheels, windshield heating, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, front seat heating, a heated steering wheel, and an extensive package of passive and active safety systems. The Dynamic also offers a multimedia screen with navigation and a 14-inch screen, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a heat pump, and battery preheating. An 11-kW onboard charger is standard, and fast charging is possible with 150 kW.

The Executive version tops things off with a glass panoramic roof, black trim in the hood, windshield wipers with heated nozzles, rear seat heating, leg heating in the front via infrared, an interior mirror with a built-in screen, artificial leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, front seat ventilation, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a 22-kW onboard charger.

The first examples of the Toyota bZ4X Touring are expected to arrive in the Netherlands in April.
