Kia is kicking off the new year with the presentation of an important new model. On January 9th, we can welcome the Kia EV2.
At the end of February, we were in Spain with our noses right on the Kia Concept EV2; a (at least from the outside) fairly production-ready preview of the Kia EV2. Now it’s almost time for the real thing. Kia shares three teaser plates on which the Kia EV2 is under a partly concealing cloth and kindly asks us to put a red circle around January 9th. More specifically: at 10:40 am on that day, the EV2 will be unveiled on the floor of the Brussels Motor Show. AutoWeek will be there.
The Kia EV2 will clearly be a smaller brother of the EV3, on the one hand, and on the other hand, there are quirky design details. For example, we already see that, just like the concept version, the car gets headlights that consist of two vertical parts and that the rear lights are relatively low on the car. The roughly 4-meter-long EV naturally sits on the well-known E-GMP platform and will almost certainly get the same batteries as the Kia EV3. With the largest battery pack, the EV2 could easily get around 600 km of driving range. Kia is aiming for a starting price for the EV2 that is roughly five thousand lower than the EV3, so then we are talking about something more than €30,000. More soon!
