Highlights Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology
Shortly after the brand-new BMW IX3 Debuted, Mercedes-Benz Unveils the model with which it is to taunt that IX3. This is the new Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology. Yes, not EQC. Althegh is name suggests otherwise, the glc with eq technology is not an electric version of the glc with combustion engines, as the predecessor EQC was – with a modified body. Just like the new BMW IX3 Shares Little More than part of its name with the X3 and is Built on its own Ev Platform, the Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ Technology also sits on a brand-after platform that has nothing to do the base of the glc.
Now that’s out of the way, we can talk about what the electric Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology has to sacrifice. First of all: New Design. Mercedes-Benz Calls the Model “[…] The First Production Car to Show the Further Developed Mercedes-Benz Design Language of Sensual Purity.” The Electric GLC is immediately recognizable as a modern Mercedes-Benz, But Still Distinguishes Itelf from What You Already Know. ESpeciate with its large illuminated grille.
Mercedes-Benz GLC ‘EQ’ HAS A Striking Rear Light Section.
Althegh the Electric GLC Sits on the MB.EA Platform and Therefore Has A Different Base Than The GLC With Combustion Engines, We see Similarities in Things Like the Windows and Front Fenders, But also Differences. The Shape of the Headlights is Reminiscent of Those of the Traditionally Motorized GLC, But They Really Have Their Own Shape and Their Own Layout. Complete with three-part LED segments that are reminiscent of the mercedes logo. The Lighting Technology is called digital light with micro LED Technology and should not only consume 50 percent less energy, but also be able to illuminate a significant larger part of the road. The Rear Lights also Attract Attention. They are filled with round led elements with or course – references to the mercedes logo. We also saw Rear Lights with Round Shapes on the New Cla and Concept Car Mercedes-AMG GT XX. The GLC with EQ Technology also Promises to Be Spacious: Its Wheelbase is more than 8 centimeters Longer than that of the EQC it replaces.
713 kilometers of range
We don’t have extensive information about the powertrains yet. For the time being, we are aware of one engine version. That will be launched in the first half of 2026 and is called GLC 400 4MATIC. It has two electric motors with a combined output or 489 hp. The 800 Volt MB.EA Platform Offers A 94 kWh (Net) Battery in this variant and this variant provides a range of 713 kilometers. Fast Charging is Possible with 330 kW. We Currently Only Know Competitor BMW IX3 AS A 470 HP 50 xDrive with A 108 kWh battery, a range or 800 kilometers and a fast charging capacity or 400 kW. The New Electric Varants of the Cla Could Initially Only Be Charged at 800V Charging Stations in Europe. The GLC can also go to 400V stations from the start.
Also interesting: Mercedes-Benz Speaks of A Towing Weight or An Impressive 2,400 kilos. So you can put a load of a caravan or horse trailer behind it.
The New Electric GLC HAS, Among Other Things, Smart Air Suspension That You May Know If You Have Ever Driven (in) The Current S-Class.
The Wheelbase of the Electric GLC is 2.97 meters, 8.3 centimeters larger than that of the GLC with Combustion Engines. What that yields: 1.3 centimeters more laying cream in the front, 4.7 centimeters more laying cream in the back and a large luggage space. You can store 570 liters in IT. There is also a frunk available. You can store a generous 128 liters in That Luggage Space Under The Front Cover. The New BMW IX3 Cannot Match That With 58 Liters. If you fold down the rear seat, you can haul a generous 1,740 liters in the GLC. Large Competitor IX3 has 520 liters, but is (slightly) more spacious with 1.750 liters with the rear seat folded down.
Hyper Hyper!
Mercedes-Benz Has Been Squeezing Various Types of Hyperscreens Into Its Cars For Years: Large Displays That Almost Span The Entire Width of the Cockpit. The New Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology has a 39.1 inch (99.3 centimeters!) Wide screen that consists of one piece from Left to Right. The Screen Runs on the latest Version of Mercedes’ Operating System and Is Expected to Take Significant Steps, Especialy in the Field of AI. It’s Called Mb.os and, Accordance to Mercedes-Benz, Should be Able to Handle Complex Tasks in A Similar Way to the Human Brain.
