That is fast!
The BMW IX1 is only a few years old, but it will soon be renewedwed. Whether we are dealing with a thorough facelift or a generational change? We are initially betting on the latter.
Like Almost All Car Brands, BMW Gives Its Models A Facelift when they are about three years old. This is Sometimes Very Minimal and Sometimes Very Extensive. So Extensive, in Fact, that bmw itelf speaks of a generational change in Such Cases. For Example, BMW Called the 1-Series updated in Mid-2024 A Completely New Model, Although We Were Dealing with a Thorough Facelift. The 2-Series Gran Coupé, which Underwent Surgery Later in 2024, Even Got A New Window Section, but was still a Havily updated Version of the Original. The BMW IX1 is not that old at all, but a facelift is also in the offing for that car, which comes close to a generational change.
The BMW X1 and the Electric Version Thereof – The IX1 – Were Presented in June 2022 and are now Just about Three Years Old. The New Design Language that BMW Introduced On Its First Model of the Neue Class – The Electric BMW IX3 – Will Gradually Trickle Down to Almost All Future and Existing BMWS. For example, the next generation 3-series and the electric i3 (neue class) will get the neue class Nose, but the current bmw 5-series and i5 will also get it through a facelift. In these photos we see a bmw iX1 that is also clearly endowed with the new bmw front. But there seems to be more going on. For example, the Doors are new and varous other sheet metal parts are cut differently. Something like this is of course unusual with a facelift.
These are not the final waistights.
The Current IX1 is an electric version of the X1. It is not inconsceivable that bmw will possibly detach the ix1 from the x1 and give it is own neue class base. After all, it did the same with the ix3, which Electric SUV now has nothing to do with the X3-WITH-COMBUSTION ENGINES. More Things That Indicate That We Are Not Just Seeing A ‘Thoroughly updated’ IX1 Here: The Tailgate has a Completely Different Shape, The Charging Port, Just Like with the New IX3, is positioned furt -down Back, and the Suv Has Electrically. If we zoom in our of the photos, we just see parts of the dashboard, complete with the black strip at the bottom of the windshield that functions as an extensive head-up display (panoramic vision). In short: We are seeing the complete new BMW IX1 here and not a refreshed current one.
We can already see snippets of the neue class interior. And look at the upward line of the by under the side mirror: This is a conspiry new IX1!
What about the BMW X1? We expect that car to undergo an extensive facelift to bring it in line with the really new bmws, but not to get a new base. Expect the arrival of a neue class front and a renewed interior.
We expect a lot of BMW News in the coming years. Up to and including 2027, it will present 40 new or updated models!
