Porsche 911 GT3 a step sharper with Manthey Kit

About half a ton of downforce

Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Kit

The Porsche 911 GT3 is usually quite capable on circuits, but there’s always room for improvement. That’s where the Manthey Kit comes in.

With its 510 hp 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, the Porsche 911 GT3 is already an exceptionally capable track car, but power alone isn’t enough. The GT3 has, among other things, a large rear wing to firmly press it against the asphalt in corners, which contributed to an extraordinarily impressive lap time for the 911 GT3 on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife earlier this year. Now you can make the GT3 even sharper, as Porsche, together with the gentlemen and ladies from Manthey, has developed a set of aerodynamic extras.

The result is impressive. Thanks to a completely revised underbody, including 1.5-meter-long air guides, a Gurney Flap , and a modified diffuser, there is now up to 540 kilograms of downforce. The maximum downforce is only reached at 285 km/h, but it is possible. There are also special carbon fiber wheel covers to reduce air resistance, and the Manthey Kit brings a new four-way adjustable suspension. Finally, the optional 20- and 21-inch wheels lower the unsprung weight of the 911 GT3 by six kilograms. The result of all these adjustments: a lap time of 6:52.981 on the Nordschleife. That’s almost three seconds faster than the previous 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit and a good three seconds faster than the current GT3 with manual transmission and Weissach package.
