License Plets Nato Summit

Anyone who is in The Hague on June 24 and 25 during the NATO summit will undoubtedly be blown away by the security fair. The license plate experts among you – we know you’re out there – will be extra spoiled. The cars of delegation members will soon be equipped with unique license plates!

One license plate is not the other. For example, cars in the Netherlands have different license plate series than commercial vehicles, and there are different plates for motorcycles, scooters, and trailers. As well as for trucks. In addition, you can deduce from the letter and number combination in which year the vehicle was registered. But it makes no sense to enter the license plates of the cars of the delegation members that you see driving around during and around the NATO summit in The Hague in the AutoWeek License Plate Check, because they are unique.

Special license plates have been pressed for the vehicles of the many delegates. They are white and have the logo specially designed for the NATO summit on the left. On the right side of the license plate is the flag of the country of origin of the delegation. The letter combination in between always seems to contain the abbreviation of the country.

Photos of the license plates include license plates for the Dutch delegation vehicles, although there are two versions. One with ‘NL’ followed by a G and two digits. This one does not have a Dutch flag on the right. The other variant does have that flag and simply has ‘NL-P’ between the two logos. The exact difference is not clear to us, but according to license plate guru Jasper Verweij of Kenteken.tv – we got this remarkable news through him – the variant with the country code and the P may be intended for the actual delegation members. The variant without the Dutch flag may be intended for the organization of the NATO summit.
